Matthew DePasquale is a classically trained musician who finds deep healing and fulfillment writing and sharing his own music.  Originally from New Jersey, he moved to San Francisco in 2008 to obtain his Master's Degree from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.  Since then, he has been an active member of the Bay Area music scene, playing with several regional orchestras and chamber ensembles, as well as sharing the stage with numerous rock and indie artists including: Sting, Chicago, Third Eye Blind, Evanescence, John Vanderslice, The Walkmen, The Dodos, Thao from the Get Down Stay Down, and the Mason Bates EDM/classical hybrid ensemble Mercury Soul.

After decades of listening to and playing others' music, he gradually felt the call to write his own.  Drawing inspiration from Romantic composers such as Brahms, Tchaikovsky, and Schumann as well as modern day songwriters such as Jeff Mangum, Sufjan Stevens and Robin Pecknold, he has found a way to create and express a sound that is uniquely his own.  Writing for voice, guitar, and piano, his music ranges from simple and intimate, to lush and powerful.

In 2015, at the encouragement of a friend, he participated in the "RPM Challenge", recording an album of previously un-released music in the month of February.  The product was "I F*cking Did It", an emphatic challenge to years of self-doubt. Spanning 9 tracks of all original material, the album echoes with love and loss, pain and hope.

Recent performances include the Solo Feature at the Hotel Utah Open Mic, and the Songwriter's Showcase at the Beacon Grand Hotel.  He looks forward to more opportunities to share his music, and to connect with other musicians and listeners.
